Data transformation

In the context of the implementation project for HR data governance within the Global HR Services division of a major player in the Energy sector, the company aims to optimize the management of data across the 6 existing reference systems.

Challenges

Defining the target for data governance of reference systems, with a focus on the following objectives:

Synchronizing reference systems

Synchronizing structural reference systems with other services, particularly legal and financial departments.

Data quality

Ensuring the quality of reference data within the HR information system (HRIS).

Solution

Our approach is structured in three key steps, supported by our accelerators. First, we evaluate the existing system to understand its strengths and identify areas for improvement. Next, we analyze the processes, assess data quality, and examine the organization to uncover inefficiencies or gaps. Finally, we assess the current governance framework to ensure it aligns with best practices. In addition, we conduct benchmarking against industry standards and practices from other clients. Following this comprehensive analysis, we present our findings and provide actionable recommendations. We also propose two potential target trajectories, which include defining a clear governance structure for the future, creating a roadmap to achieve this target model, and estimating the required workload and any necessary training.

Results

We conducted a thorough analysis and synthesis of the maturity of the existing system, focusing on four key areas for our client. This resulted in 10 categorized and prioritized findings, each accompanied by actionable recommendations. We also developed three possible scenarios to initiate a trajectory toward a shared reference systems vision. In addition, we defined the roles and responsibilities of key stakeholders in governance and provided an illustration of how each process operates. Our work also included detailed planning and budgeting, along with recommendations for the implementation of the proposed changes.
