Data Office for a data-Centric transformation
As part of a major transformation program towards a “Data-Centric” model, a Data Office was developed and deployed for a leading player in the insurance sector to effectively address business challenges.
Challenges
Design Data Office
Design the Data Office organization dedicated to governance and data management for the “Data-Centric” program.
Pilot deployment of Data Office
Deploy the Data Office on a pilot scope at the group and brand levels.
Leading initial data initiatives
Lead the first data-related initiatives under the responsibility of the Data Office, aligned with priority use cases.
Solution
The pacing of activities aimed to structure and deliver the foundational steps for deploying the Data Office. The deployment of the target Data Office model was carried out progressively to adopt a pragmatic and sustainable approach, aligned with the target organizational model and the specific characteristics of the brands. We structured the missions for implementing the Data Office within the Data-Centric program, and subsequently at the group level, across the INIT, BUILD, and RUN phases. This included around 15 interviews with key stakeholders (Data, brands, group, IT, business units).

Results
A cross-functional business/IT organization was deployed across the group with representatives in the brands. Approximately 20 “Data Champions” were mobilized, helping to enhance the understanding of the Customer Data scope. The approach was structured, defining the metadata model and initial data feeds with use cases. We also developed a comprehensive view of the tools required to support this approach and compiled a report on the initial situation for consideration.
